  19. Windows 3.0 or later.
  20. Version 3 of this utility no longer uses low level
  21. DOS utilities and is not reliant upon DOS versions.

  25. If upgrading from version 3 or later, just replace your
  26. old inst-all.exe with the new inst-all.exe. That is all.

  28. Introduction

  30. Run Inst-all.exe before installing any new software.
  31. It notes your system set-up, runs the new software's
  32. installation program and then compares any differences
  33. in the following:-

  35. windows directory
  36. windows/system directory 
  37. win.ini file
  38. system.ini file
  39.  
  40. The results are saved for future reference in a report
  41. file. Using this report file, you can easily uninstall
  42. the software at a later date and be sure that no rubbish
  43. is left on your hard disk or in your system files. Even
  44. programs with uninstall capabilities do not always clean
  45. up properly.

  47. The program is free to use and distribute provided that
  48. this readme.txt file is distributed with it.

  65. can be downloaded separately.

  67. Other than the report files selected by the user, no other
  68. permanent files are created or modified. Only temporary files
  69. are created and no system files are touched.

  73. Place the following wherever you wish:

  77. The location of this program will be the default directory
  78. for your reports.

  80. NOTE:
  81. Please do not re-name this program to install.exe as this
  82. causes conflicts when using installation software with the
  83. same name.

  89. you have earlier versions (Check version numbers using 
  90. Properties in File Manager's File menu, rather than rely

  107. Prior to installing new software, start the program from
  108. file manager, program manager etc.
  109. Select the new software's installation program.
  110. Select the name for your report file.
  111. Inst-all.exe examines your system, installs the new software
  112. and then notes changes in your report file.
  113. If inst-all fails to finish due to the new software re-setting
  114. the system or for some other reason, do not worry, the next
  115. time that inst-all is run it will attempt to recover where it
  116. left off.

  163.     installation routines. A major re-write means that if
  164.     the utility is re-run after such an interruption, it 
  165.     will attempt to recover where it left off.
